ERGO is a forward thinking multidisciplinary consultancy firm based in Newcastle Upon Tyne focussed on providing Geoenvironmental and Geotechnical services in the North East of England and across the UK.
Due to continued expansion ERGO are looking to recruit a Geotechnical/Geoenvironmental Engineer with an understanding of ground investigations, geotechnical design and/or contaminated land risk assessment.
Purpose and Objectives
To contribute to the growth of the land quality team by assisting the delivery of projects in the fields of soil and groundwater investigation, contaminated land assessment and site remediation using appropriate technical skills.
Duties and Responsibilities
You will be supporting the existing team both on site and in the office and will primarily involve you:
- Undertaking site visits
- Carrying out Desk Study searches and reports
- Undertaking/supervising site investigations/insitu testing
- Compiling reports on contaminated land and geotechnical issues both quantitative and qualitative
- Site investigation sampling/field manager/supervision of contractors – to undertake field based work including supervision and management of site investigations including third party contractors – preparation of accurate site record
- To undertake technical tasks within existing and new projects to produce reports on time to the required quality and budget
- To work well within a team environment
Experience Required
0-3 year of experience within the industry.
Qualifications Required
Degree in:
- Geology (with environmental science/contaminated land modules), Hydrogeology, or Environmental Science
Preferred:
Masters level qualification in:
- Hydrogeology or Geology with a significant number of Hydrogeology modules, Geochemistry or Environmental Science focussed on contaminated land investigation and assessment

- Must hold full clean UK driving licence or equivalent
Salary
